Rajasthani Graduates Association, popularly known as RGA is an amalgam of more than 2000 Rajasthani Graduates. RGA family comprises of Litterateurs, Doctors,Chartered Accountants, Professors, Advocates, Industrialists, Businessmen, Engineers, besides persons from public and private services.
When the thought of how best to channelize the energies and expertise of Rajasthani Graduates towards socially relevant activities flashed through the mind of Late Shri Ramkrishna Dhoot, he organised a meeting of some Rajasthani Graduates of prominence on 2nd Sept., 1961, which he christened as ‘Vichar Vinamay Sabha’. All the dignitaries present at the meeting unanimously supported the idea of founding an institution to serve as a rallying point in the service of society. Immediately thereafter, an ad-hoc committee was constituted under the Convenorship of Shri D.L. Agrawal. This Committee, after careful considerations and prolonged discussions framed a set of rules which were approved on 11th November, 1961 and under the Presidentship of Shri Satyanarayan Loya, a new star appeared on the horizon of social service in the form of RAJASTHANI SNATAK SANGH.
To begin with, activities of RGA were conducted in the premises of Marwadi Hindi Vidyalaya located at Sultan Bazar for about three decades. Steady increase in membership and expansion of work field made it necessary for RGA to have premises of its own. And this dream materialised in 1994-95 in the form of SNATAK BHAVAN.
The formation of RGA Swarna Jayanti Shiksha Nyas in the Golden Jubilee year 2011 was another milestone in the progress of RGA. To extend financial assistance to the needy and deserving students of the society, the Trust was formed under the Chairmanship of Shri Ramgopal Goenka. The Trust, a joint wing of RGA has corpus fund of 4.5 crore to date.
Progressive growth of RGA for 58 years speaks volumes about its success story. From a humble beginning with limited resources and handful of members, RGA has now reached a stage where the very mention of name ‘RGA’ commands respect, love and admiration. And this well-earned and highly deserving recognition needs to be attributed to the selfless, untiring and visionary services of all the Members of RGA in general, and Past Presidents & Secretaries in particular.
Not possible to pen entirely the glorious journey of fifty plus years, let it be permitted to mention a few activities of RGA – The Text Book Lending Library served for five decades till recent past, Monthly Lectures by persons of eminence in their chosen fields organised for four decades; Annual Lecture entitled ‘Shri Ramkrishna Dhoot Memorial Lecture’ being organised for three decades; monthly publication of RGA Mukhpatra for the last four decades; Pratibha Vikas and Shikshak Samman Karyakrum being organised for two decades; apart from Industrial Seminars, All India Kavi Sammelan, Patriotic fervour programme Rang De Basanti, Van Vihar programme, Training Programmes, Literary Competitions, and many more such programmes of allied nature.
Strict adherence to the rules and regulations being laid down in the Constitution, democratically conducted elections, timely and regular meetings of Executive Committee and Sub-Committees, systematic and transparent maintenance of accounts with regular audit, a close watch and guidance of the Past Presidents, combined with sense of dedication and commitment of TEAM RGA, is the hallmark of Rajasthani Graduates Association.
